documents not opening from Word or Excel, BUT

If I try to open a Word or Excel document by browsing to it from either Windows Explorer or My Computer, the document will open. But if I try to open the exact same document by going into Word or Excel first then browsing to it, my computer will actually freeze up. Any Suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried a Detect & Repair under Help on the task bar? or in Office 2007 there is a Diagnostic available. If that doesn't work, there is always a Repair/Re-Install from the Control Panel, Add/Remove. MIKE http://www.skeptic.com/
