Document showing up as small squares

I had saved a document onto a cd before clearing my computer and now after re-installing microsoft office the entire document shows up as small squares with no text. Is there any way that I can get this document to show the text i had orignally saved it as?

Have you tried opening the document in Notepad or Wordpad? If it's still all there, just copy and past back into a Word doc. You could also try on the Task Bar, Help, Detect & Repair. MIKE http://www.skeptic.com/
