different size column widths in excel

Can you have different size cells widths with in the same column? If so how do you do that?

No, you can not.

The best you can do is merge a cell with the cell in the next column to make it look like it's in the same column and then format all of the cells to get the data to look like you want it to.

Thanks. Im trying to do half the list with a Yes & No column and then in the bottom half in the same column put addresses in. The yes & no looks odd cause its just swimming in the big cell due to the size of the addresses.

Sorry, I've got nothing to offer other than to keep in mind that Excel's main purpose in life is to work with numbers, not text, so it's text based features are limited.
