Deleting images in excel

I’ve embedded an image in excel but I’m not able to delete it. it looks like the image "layer" has been locked and i can't even select the image. My co-worker is able to select the image by using his trackball mouse (using one of the 4 buttons), but I don't want to get a new mouse just for that. I’ve tried pressing "ctrl + click" and a little "+" sign appears by the arrow, but doesn't select the image. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance…
