I have an Excel file that when I open it, it says I have a link to another file. Checking the link option in Edit, it shows me what file I am linked to but I can't find any way to delete the link. I also have no idea what the link is or why there is a link. Any ideas..Thanks Gary

Ctrl+`(~) will toggle 'Show formulas'
You can then see where and what links are used.
Toggle again to stop showing the formulas.
If the links are all in one column then right click on the column letter, select Copy, right click on it again and select Paste Special, Values.
If you are not concerned about the calucatlions or other formulas then do the same for the entire sheet instead.
Save when done.

Bryan.. Pressing Control` just doubles the width of the worksheet columns. Doing it again puts the columns back. I have Office 2000. The manual I have is Excel 5.0 and it says that Ctrl+` does what you say. Is there something else I can try. Thanks.. Gary

Gary,
It does this to accomodate the width so you can view the formulas. It will do that on sheets that have no formulas too. Have a look around the cells for your formulas.

Bryan.. I looked through every sheet in the workbook but found no links. I finally created a new workbook and copied the worksheets from the old to the new, 1 at a time and closed/opened the new workbook. Got the worksheets loaded and then copied the macro from the old to the new and now everythings ok. I know I had no links to the workbook the link option said I did. It was even in a different folder. I'm supprised there isn't a "Delete Link" option available. Thanks again. Gary
