dates again (sorry)

Specs: Windows XP

I have the following date notification:
Thu Mar 19 05:34:12 GMT-50:00 2009
and I would like to change it to the following

dd-mm-yyyy hh:mm:ss

Can someone please help.

Try this:

Put your date string "Thu Mar 19 05:34:12 GMT-50:00 2009" in A1

In A2 enter the formula:

=MID(A1,9,2)&"-"&MID(A1,5,3)&"-"&RIGHT(A1,4)&" "&MID(A1,12,8)

This formula makes the assumption that the length of each piece of the string stays static.
I.E. the first three characters which represent the day of the week is always three characters, etc. etc.

This is not the only way of doing this but it works.

The best I can figure is

Greenwich Mean Time minus 5 hours

GMT -5:00 works for me, but not GMT -50:00

That's 2+ days.
