Hi,

I am trying to put in a conditional format to a Column. But i am failing!!

I am trying to show the date's in the column highlighted in red, if they are 10 working days older than today's date. So if the date is overdue by ten day's, i can flag it up a different colour to show as urgent.

I have a formatted date in to show today's date in cell B1.

Let me know asap. Cheer!!!
Kev

If it's so incredibly URGENT, why did you go with the option that has over 24-hour turnaround, especially when Google does it in 0.19 seconds?

So is it your question that is urgent or do you want to mark a cell as urgent?

Since putting URGENT in a subject line might actually cause us to respond slower, I'll be nice and assume the URGENT refers to the formatting you are asking about.

Assuming you want this formatting applied to Column A, try this:

Highlight Column A
Pull down Format...Conditional Formatting
Pull down Formula is... and paste this in:
=IF(AND(A1<>"",A1<TODAY()-9),TRUE,FALSE)
Format button...Patterns tab...Red

The process is the same for any range, just change the A1 to match the cell(s) you want formatted.

Why is razor an arse? All i did was put urgent in the subject matter, to a straighforward question. If you havent already guessed, i tried google already and i couldnt find the right example i was needing, but thanks for your input anyway, it was very helpful haha ;-)

Thanks derbydad, this has worked. It wasnt that "urgent" anyway, i just typed it in while typing away at work. No big deal. Thanks again

First: Keep calling people names and I doubt you'll get any more help in this forum.

Second: When you use words like "urgent" - especially in all caps - you give people the impression that you think your question is more important than everyone else's. We should all drop whatever we are doing and help you right away.

It's like the customer who tries to push his way to the front of the line because he is in a hurry - nobody else matters, take care of me right now.

The only reason I answered your question is because I gave you the benefit of the doubt and assumed the URGENT meant that you wanted to highlight a cell so you knew it was "urgent" i.e. payment overdue, better call the customer.

If the URGENT meant you were in a hurry, then I side with Razor and I shouldn't have offered a solution.

Haha whatever mate. i never knew this website was so petty and full of picky people like yourself and razor to go into enough detail and actually create an argument over a subject matter. Your suggestion was helpful i'll give you that, but it also sounds like that you think you're better than the people looking for help on here. Not once did i say or think i was more important than other queries on this site. Dont be so ridiculous please, i only wanted help. All i did was say the word urgent and i get this response from idiot. i'll be looking for another helpful web site now. cheers anyway

That I am. If you have a point, I wish you'd make it.
