Hello all,
Im needing to create some custom rules to orginize my email for me.
I need to write a rule so that an email containning an specific word in the subject, sent to a person in a specific address book, or from a person in a specific address book moved to a specific folder.
I know i have to use vba because the wiz wont allow for an or it will only use and. Can any one please help me with this?

i need an or. im looking for something like this but dont know how to do it. im not sure of the syntax:
If (msg subj contains my word) or (msg was sent to person in specific address book) or (msg was sent from person in specific address bok) then (move msg here)
i have several clients companies with several contacts. i have an address book set up for each company. and i receive massive ammount of email on a daily bases that needs to be sorted. i am cc in all messsages sent from other workers within my company to client companies and visa versa.

So you want to create a rule specifying if a message is sent to/from anyone in a particular address book, NOT sent to/from a particular person within the address book? You can do that if you are using Distribution lists, but I don't think you can do that for different address books.
And if the message meets all the criteria, you don't want it to be moved?

what is in outlook almost works. there is a rule 'a word in the subject' which is part of what I want and there is a rule "sender in specified address book". I’m interpreting that as a rule for a message sent from someone in an address book. I also need a rule that would be 'recipients in specified address book'. this would have to be created in vba. since I will have to create this rule in vba for several clients I would like to combine it with the other 2 rules I need using an or statement. I want there to be only 1 rule for each client. I want to be able to add a new contact into the address book for that client and have them added to the rule by doing so. once I have my rules completely written in vba I will be exporting them and copying them to several other computers.
I hope that’s a little more descriptive for you. If you have any other question please ask. the help is greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't mess with VBA. I'd make it as simple as possible and just create the required rules.
Sorry. Just my opinion.

is anyone able to help me with this or point me in another direction to accomplish my task? I have a deadline of next Friday. I've been working all week on this and can't get anywhere.
