I have been asked to recreate a database for a school police officer. It will be used to store all the information on students at the school and any tickets he gives and so on. They had asked me how much I would like to be paid... So my question to you is, what would be a reasonable price for this?

Cost is a factor of many components: geographical location, technology used, experience of programmer etc...
You can't go wrong if you estimate the time it will take to complete the project. Decide what your hourly rate should be and multiple the two values. I always bill in fifteen minute intervals.
Good luck

Is this a new application or a redo of an existing? "Recreate a database" What ever you bill don't bill for learning to program. The assumption is that you are a qualified programmer in the application language. First get the specs of what is wanted in the program and what reports will be produced. Get examples. Remember you must also produce utilities (reorganize, purge, rebuild indexes, etc.) and documentation.
I'm assuming that you are a student. So maybe twice the minimum wage or equal to the highest of other student employment against a limit. $12.50/hr or $250 max. It depends upon how good you are. In reality you will probably twice the unbillable hours as billable hours.

Summary: I use CamStudio 2.1 by Rendersoft. It is a freebie and works surprisingly good. They don't make it anymore and recommend one use RoboDemo by Macromedia at a cost of $99 (free trial) but CamStudio can ...
