Hello
I have a cd with a game: Lord of the rings that i'd like to install. However, the problem is, is that there is a corrupted file that the setup will not install, the installation stops at 15% at a movie file
so the entire game does not install. I checked the back of the cd and the scratches aren't too severe. Regardless, is there any way i can skip this file in the setup oor fix it? suggestions would appreciated.

Try making a copy of the cd on another machinecopy - they all have different sensitivities. failing that copy the cd to your harddrive (you won't be able to copy the corrupted file) get another movie and rename as the corrupted file. Place your replacement movie file in the correct place and reburn the cd

Some software companies have a defective disk exchange program, since their disks can't be copied for backup. You just send in the scratched disk and a few bucks,a nd they'll mail you a replacement.

Something to look into.
