Copying a list of data by looking at one cell

Specs: Windows XP

I am trying to do the following.

I have a list of account numbers in one table. I want to match these account numbers to another big list on a separate tab.

The big list has 8 columns of data and 3779 rows. Under column b is listed the account numbers, but there are more than one account number of the same account. The rest of the data, has IDs, names etc.

What I want to do, is by looking up the account numbers from a small table, to the big list and pull all the information for that one account. i.e pull multiple rows of data for that one account.

VLOOKUP wont work as it will only return one row/one cell data. Not sure how to do this! Doing my nut in.

Where do you want the "multiple rows of data for that one account" placed?

In multiple rows? In one long row next to the account number in the short list? Someplace else?

Is the big table sorted in any manner or are the account numbers spread out randomly throughout the list?

I want to show the data in a separate sheet.

I am trying to work out the movement in the number of customers from one account in one period eg Jan to the number of customers from the same account in different period eg Feb. To work out the movements in accounts for the two periods. I have used pivot tables. However, to get the list of all the customer details, VLOOKUP wont work as I need all the customer details from the one data tab, which is actually a dump of data from a system.
