When trying to copy fields in excel with the copy and paste option, any fields with **ONLY** the vlookup command in the cell, excel locks up. Need help on this. Anyone have any ideas?

Are you using "paste special" or simple paste? What's the maximum number of fields you're attempting to paste?

The facts you've got a 500 mhz processor couold be part of the problem. It takes a lot of processor ppower to calculate large numbers of formulas.

Where's the any key?

Ive seen this on a celeron 700 system i used to use at work, |I had to copy and pste an entire database into excel to check on the number of items we had configured for one particular company and as i didn`t hve the necessary permissions to run a report from access it necessary to do it this way it took n absolute age to load it all up and task manger said that excel wasn`t responding but i left it, went for a smoke and coffee and it was finished when i came back.
