I want to copy and fill the formula in a column. The formula copies but my numbers don't change in the column. It works in 2003 but not in 2007.

My end column that I pasted the formula in to.
=SUM(E2+I2) answer is 954,822
When I copy & drag down the formula I get:
=SUM(E3+I3) answer is 954,822. Shd be 63,017
=SUM(E4+I4) answer is 954,822 etc

In Excel 2003, if Calculation is set to Manual, you will get the symptoms you describe. The formulae will auto-fill, but the sheet won't calculate the new values.

F9 forces a calculation and the numbers will update, so I suggested F9 to see if that would work. That would have led me to conclude that Calculation is set to Manual.

Since I don't have 2007, the only things that I can suggest is to check the Calculation setting to make sure it's set to automatic and to try some other formulae and see if they udpate the values as expected.

Let us know what you find.

I was just looking in my formula options and I got it figured out just as you sent your reply. In 2007 in the formula's tab, it has a calculations options and yes it was set on manual. Once I clicked on automatic my numbers all were corrected. F9 did not work but when the wrong numbers came up, there was a calculate button that showed up on the bottom and that worked. I still needed to go into the calulations options and change it so it was always on.
Thanks for your help!
