I continually get this error in Excel. It could happen when working on a new spreadsheet, an existing one, or when I simply have Excel open. I have installed new memory, a new video card. I have also replaced the new memory and the new video card again. I have uninstalled Office 2K, reinstalled. I have used Eraser2K, installed office again and SP3 for office 2K. Still the same error at the exact same memory location. I have deleted *.XLB files....Error message continues, multiple times a day. Reboot is the solution until next error. PLEASE HELP !!!!!THanks
Drew

Well you've proved it isn't hardware and office 2K. next is the operating system. i'd back up your files before you begin.

These errors are always difficult to troubleshoot, but here are some "long shots."
1. Use the system file checker (available in start-programs-accessories-system tools-system information-tools-system file checker) to scan for corrupted os and related files. If it finds any, replace them from your os disk.
2. start up in safe mode, and see if you get the same problem in excel. If you don't, then you know it's some conflict with a non-necessary driver or startup program.
If neither of these work, I would probably reinstall the operating system (or upgrade to xp)
Best of luck,
-SN
