Ok so I have a spread sheet in excel and I need 3 Conditional formatting. The first one is set Cell Value is less then A38 (i have the cell set up as today()-1095 to get the date set to three years ago) change cell color to yellow.
The second one is set up if its larger then A38 then it turns a blue color.

Now this is where I get stuck. I need another one so if there is no date in the cell I need it to stay white or even another color but I can't figure out how to do that. I've tried to set it up so its equal to a blank cell but it stays yellow all the time. Any ideas would be greatly apprciated.

Set the third one up so that it will format any cell that is less than say 1/1/1000, that way, any blank cell will register as less than 1/1/1000.

Because i doubt that you will be entering any dates that actually are older than that date

Thanks that worked kinda of it got me on the right track tho. I had to put the first Conditional formatting as my blank square other wise it was thinking that everything was less then my date and was turning everything yellow. The second Conditional formatting was my if the date was greater and my third was if it was less then three years ago. So far it seams to work. Thanks for the help.

JRComp, learn me something...

How would your answer have been different if a different Excel version was being used?

Thanks for coming to my defense, Bryco.

I was hoping my question wouldn't be taken the wrong way, but it appears that it was.

I guess the "learn me something" line didn't help.

No problem...

Sometimes it's easy to mis-read the "tone" of an electronic message.
