I have two Access 2002 databases.
One is called Reservations and has the following fields:
Name, Lastcontact (=date of last contact), road, town, telephone, email, concertsThis database has a form called Res-Form and a Table which (under "Tables") is given as Res-Table
The other database is called Fans and has the following fields:
Name, Lastcontact (=date of last contact), road, town, telephone, email, concerts plus a few more.
This database has a form called Fans and a Table which (under "Tables") is given as Table: FansNeither of the databases has an index field.
All I want to do is see which names I have in both databases and I can't for the life of me work out how to work out a query to compare the two but I can't "call up" the second database to link them up in the design view of the Query. I just get the one box for the current database but can't "add" the second list of the second table to make the links. (If you know what I mean).
Could anyone tell me how to do it ? How can I add the second table so I can link them for the query ? I've tried using all the query wizards but none of them list the reservations database even though all my Access dbs are in the same folder.
Many thanks !

Where are you attempting to link to the table? You can't just do it in the query, you have to go into the Tables and Link from there. Then, add to the query.

Yes - that was the info I was looking for, thankyou Jennifer.
I was trying to do it without the Res-Table in the list of Fan tables.
So is this the correct procedure ?- Open the database you want to run the
Query from
- Click on Tables
- Click New
- Click Link Tables
- Double-Click on the database that the
(new) table is in
- Mark the table in the left hand pane
- Click Ok
- Make a simply query then
- Design view
- Query: Show Table
- Click on the Table you want ...Add
- Drag and drop e.g. Name from "Fans"
to Name in "Res-Table" to link themThat seems to be working !
Thanks again!
