I have 2 email accounts that I send messages from - one is generic and other is mine. I would like all the generic emails to be saved in my sent items but I just cant get it to work.

Ive tried rules, changing folders but it seems I cant get them to move automatically. Can anyone help? PS this is for an exchange account

Are you talking about saving generic emails that are sent? If the option is set in the Outlook configuration, then all sent emails (regardless of the sending account) will save in the Sent Items mailbox folder.

You said "I cant get them to move automatically." Move from where?
