Can't start in Outlook Today Folder

No matter what I do, Outlook will not start up in the Outlook Today window. I've checked all the correct boxes but Outlook only opens in the "Inbox" window. I've reloaded Office XP Professional several times, as well as running a repair. Does anybody have an idea of what to do?
