re: it doesnt show anything

What does that mean?

Office 2003 requires that the Compatibility Pack be installed in order to open Office 2007 (docx, xlsx, etc.) files.

If you have installed the Compatibility Pack, please tell us exactly what happens when you try to open your files.

If your old files (doc, xls, etc.) are not opening, make sure that these documents are still associated with the 2003 version of Office.

In any folder, pull down Tools...Folder Options...File Types tab.

Scroll down to each file type, e.g. DOC and make sure it is set up to open with Microsoft Office Word, XLS with Excel, etc.

Your files may have lost their file associations when you swapped the different versions of Office.

when i open a doc it is just blank. at the bottom of the page it shows how many characters are in the doc but there is nothing seen on the page.
i downloaded the compatability pack and still nothing.
all the files are still associated with microsoft word. i checked by right clicking on a file and checked the propertys.

The first thing I would do is copy the docs toa thumbdrive and try them on another system At least you'll know that they are not corrupt.

From there, I'm not sure where I'd go next.
