I have an Excel file. When I open it, it pops up a window of "Unable to read file". When I use MS-Word to open it, it shows unrecognizable sysmbols. Can anyone offer me a help?

If it's a spreadsheet you have to use a spreadsheet program like excel to open it. Try right clicking on it and choose properties. Then make sure that the read only option is unchecked. If that doesn't solve the problem, post back.
