Hi I scanned a document into Word and now when I try to edit text it seems to be that I can't. When I click on the scanned image all that happens is the whole thing is highlighted on the outer edge with the resize buttons. Does anyone know how I can actually edit the text? Thanks for any reply.

Seems that I remember that to do what you want, you need some OCR software installed(Textbridge, etc)I tried this early on in my scanner days but found it to be pretty cumbersome and not user friendly so gave it up. Good luck.

It sounds as if you've scanned it as a picture, not as text. If you have Textbridge it should scan as text if you have selected the text tab i.e. not the image tab - it's on right of screen in Textbridge 9.0.

Hi guys thanks for repying. I don't actually have a scanner. When I scanned it I used Word: Insert>Picture>From scanner and it saved it as a Word document so I thought I could edit it. Does anyone know how I could edit a scanned image with text in it? Thanks again for your replies.

As mentioned in the previous messages, if you want to convert it to Text, then you will need to use some OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software.
This attempts to read the words in the picture and convert it to text.
This can then be opened in Word as a normal document.

If its a scanned text as an image you can insert a text box and type in the text. Then size the box and drag it over the existing line in the scanned (as image) document. As long as its black text on white background image it will work and print. Not the best of solutions but a workaround.
