Hi,
I'm working on a 2 page Excel spreadsheet. The first page is fine, but I want to delete all the remnants of lines and other junk in the second page and remove it completely. The lines aren't visible at all in normal mode yet show up in the preview. I've tried clearing the cells in all kinds of ways though nothing seems to work. I'm using Excel XP btw.
My other problem is that the lines I *do* want to appear only show up after I drag a highlighted box around them making it very difficult to judge what my page looks like without using the preview function. Any idea how to fix this anyone?

Borders would be visible in Normal View. However, Underlines may not be. Check the cells and see if the Underline option is selected. If so, just toggle it to go away. :)

Thanks for the reply, but these aren't borders. I think the term is 'connectors' but don't quote me. They're straight lines which when clicked display hollow balls at either end that can be dragged to extend or change the orientation of the lines.

Nope, none of that worked unfortunately. I tried highlighting and then deleting the cells, but when they shifted up the cells I wanted to remain intact were deleted instead. When I chose for the cells to shift to the left or used one of the other options, the contents I wanted to clear didn't budge an inch. What an infuriating bug!
Anyway I managed to achieve what I wanted to by creating a new sheet, copying everything I wanted to keep over to it, re-adjusting the column/row heights/widths and finally deleting the original sheet. Very longwinded solution to what should be a simple problem, but at least I got there in the end.
Thanks for all your help, much appreciated. :)
