Hi,

In the early 90s I spent a lot of time working on a CANON Starwriter word processor. From this time I have around 6 floppy discs, the contents of which I would like to transfer to CD. I've tried this myself but when I install the floppy into my PC I get a window saying it's not possible to read it and that "foematting" the disc will cause the contents to be erased.
Is there anyone out there who is old enough (!) to remember the Starwriter and maybe offer some advice as to how I get the info from the floppy onto CD ?

Many thanks.

Try inserting the floppies on a PC using the same operating system that was used to make them as it maybe be able to read the floppies.

Just curious...

What's the point of copying the files to a CD? If your OS can't read the files from a floppy, I can't imagine that they would be readable from a CD.

It's not the media that matters, it's the file structure.
