I receive a 2343 error while trying to install MS office 2000. According to MS knowledge base it suggests that I have messed with lotus notes, which has not and never will be on this machine. I also tried office xp but got the same error.

I tried that, I didn't find anything in the list that related to ms office. Just to clarify, the installation doesn't even get a chance to start, it just says that after I click install. It says the installation ended prematurely because of an error. I also tried the "workaround" from ms but it did not help. Argh.

Did you run the utility anyway? From my experience, just running the utility and clearing everything in the list has helped.
It's possible that the installation of some other program, unrelated to Office, is causing the problem.
I've run the utility, clearing the entire list and the result has either been that it helped with the Office installation or it didn't, but with no ill effects either way.

I cleared everything. No dice. The error message is stating that I have remove lotus notes. I've never used lotus notes.
