Once you've deleted an email, unless it is still in the deleted item folder then it is, for all intents & purposes, impossible, especially due to the timescale - if you imagine how many emails have been sent using Yahoo over the last year....

Thank U johnr.
I thought there was a place in cyber space where lost data was collected... and either a computer genius or commercial product was the key to the hidden archive...a 'mad' idea indeed! Long live Pink Floyd.

re: "I thought there was a place in cyber space where lost data was collected"

Well, there is...sort of.

You may have heard the saying "The Internet Is Forever". That used to mean (and may still) that once it was put out on the Interweb, it's out there forever.

The problem is getting it back. It's extremely possible (almost probable) that somewhere in the bowels of Yahoo's data center(s) and back-up data center(s) an email from a year ago is still on a hard drive someplace. Major data centers back up their data redundantly, sometimes many times over, for disaster recovery (and other not-often-discussed) reasons. If you were the FBI, CIA or Dick Cheny, you could probably get Yahoo to find your email for you.

That said, just for fun, you might want to read this Yahoo-related article which explains why the internet may not be as "forever" as it used to be.
