After formatting (OS Windows 2000, Dell Dimension desktop) when i tried to re-set up Windows, I got an error message " Windows can not run set-up, C drive corrupt" (or smthng similar). Anyone knows what s going on?
Fast answer will be much appreciated! Thanks a lot!

Stupid Question did you install Windows back on the drive after formatting or is this a second drive that you added? If it is the later then which type did you use NTFS, FAT32 or what?
You can check the drives status by going into your BIOS and running a PCHEALT on it. This will tell you if it is truely bad.

Not stupid at all, thanks for the reply. It s not a second drive (for better or worse) it is the primary main drive (NTFS).
My turn for stupid question..how do i run a PCHEALT in BIOS? just hit F2 when it boots and then what?

And another question..is it possible that the format caused the hard drive to go dead, because maybe of smthng I did wrong? what are the most common causes for that?
