Dennis, if you are using Microsoft Word the Key combo is: Alt+0163 gives you this: £
Also works in other MS apps, Excel, Access, Frontpage, Notepad, Wordpad and some non MS text editors. Also seems to work in imaging programs such as IrfanView, MS Paint etc.
From what I have searched for there is no ASCII code for the Brit. Pound sign.

Well, if you are using MS Word, or Wordperfect, they have a section where you select different letters or icons. It is really very easy. Click on "Insert", then "Symbols", Select "Times Roman" and you will find the British Pound symbol. Insert and close, that's all there is to it. I'm really surprised you couldn't figure that out!

Just a little note.. That ASCII code works for most programs..... It's an oldie. LOL
