Hello members
I like to backup individual folders of costumers in Outlook 2007 and store on a CD together with hard copies in the costumer archive file.
Say if I have a folder with emails of costumer X which have PDF or Word, or any file attached, how can I backup this so I can retrieve any data (email and attachments) if needed?
For any help, many thanks in advance
L

If you want to backup the entire pst file, download and install pfbackup from Microsoft.

Or, use the Import/Export wizard to backup individual folders in Outlook:

File
Import/Export
Export to a file
Select the filetype
Select the folder to save
Just run through the wizard.

Or, Create a folder in Windows Explorer for each category and then you can highlight the emails, right-click and drag to the folder selecting copy here.

Or, you can set an auto-archive for each folder and it will run when you schedule it to.

Your choice..

Hi Jennifer
Thanks!
I just did a little exercise:
I exportet a Costumer file"X". I changed the file name to "XZ". Now I wanted to look at the emails in that particular costumer file. The import possibility does not work because I have allready one file open(the main folder).
It would be good to be able to look at an old Costumer file(emails and attachments)that has been removed from Outlook.
Any other Ideas?
Or, is there a similar thing like the GenieSoft Outlook Experess backup software? It was very good because you could see the individual backed up files and recover attachments. Just perfect!
Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks
L

If you saved the folder as a pst file, then you can open it within Outlook as an additional Personal Folder.

File
Open
Outlook Data File
Browse to the file

Or, just double-click on the file to open it.

Hi cnf
Thanks for that.
Can I preview the "backed up material" so I can choose which email (and possibly attachment)I want to extract, similar to GenieSoft Outlook Express Backup.
Regards
L
