Background color in Word 2002

I need to change the background color in Word from the default for easier viewing. I don’t recall how to do this. Thanks.

Jennifer, yes and I must be missing something because I cannot get the color to stick. Maybe too much eggnog this month. LOL

What do you mean by stick? Does it change when you select the option and then at some point changes back to default within the document? Life's more painless for the brainless.

No, it never changes. I have poor vision so I need a certain color for better contrast. It is not document specific, but rather, a global function. I ran CCleaner which is where this all started. Cant for the life of me se how that happened.
