I am having email problems. Clicking an address link on a website in Firefox attempts a startup of the Windows office suite. But the MS office program was never activated by me, so it asks me every time if I want to install it. Answer: No, every time, because I am using Zimbra as my mail handler.
I want to change my email preference in Control Panel>Internet Options, but Zimbra does not come up as an option. I need to let my machine know Zimbra is there and I want it to be my email choice.
So how do I add this in? Thanks one and all.

Google search string:
set Zimbra email preference in firefox
Result:

Hope that helps.

Open the Registry. Go to HKLM\Software\Classes\mailto\shell\open\command and type in the location of the executable for your email program followed by /m "%1"

OK, its a good start. Thank you Derb, and thanks too Jennifer; I am in awe of anyone who can skip through the Registry with such confidence.
The prob I have is that Zimbra Collaboration Suite has no executable per se - it is opened in a browser. I'd need to find out whatever the variable is that gets Zimbra's attention and opens up a New Message window.
I'm cross-posting to the Zimbra Forum to see if they can offer additional info. You guys are great and thanks again.

re: it is opened in a browser.
Have you looked at the website I offered?
It explains how to set up a web based email client as the default mail client.
Examples given were Zimbra, Yahoo, etc.
I quote:
"Webmailer offers a way to remove one of the annoyances in using a web-based email service. It lets you set Zimbra (or Joyent’s webmail or Yahoo! or Roundcube or whatever) as the default email client, so that clicking on an email address opens a new message in the web-based interface of your choice."
Isn't that what you are trying to do?

Yyyeah-h, I di-i-id... I just didn't understand it the first time thru. A second read made more sense. Thanx for the prod.
