I there a way to do a fill on the sheet tabs at the bottom of work book?

Like Jan 1, Jan 2, etc. thru Jan 31.

Yes.

I just used the free ASAP Utilities to do that for the first time as I suspected it could.

See the "Screenshots" page and then look under "Sheets" for +! Add sheets (with names defined in selected cells)

I did have to format the cells as Text and then I input Jan1, Jan2 and dragged it down 20 cells.

Selected the option in ASAP and it worked just fine.

Otherwise I know of no other method besides doing it manually.

Bryan

I haven't used ASAP much, although I had downloaded it earlier.

I just have to ask, how did you know to format the cells to text first?

Because when I tried to do it per your example I input Jan1 and it reformatted itself to the date format of 01-Jan and that was not what you requested.

That date format shows in the formula bar as 01/01/2005 and that is not a valid format for Sheet names whereas it contains the special character of "/" within it.

Hence, text format instead of date format.

Bryan

Yes, that's what happened to me the first time I tried it.

Never thought about the text thing though.

Thanks,
