I work in a Technical Support environment with Windows and Citrix... this is a Windows print issue, NOT Citrix, as we don't print using Citrix...
I have a member of staff who cannot print a PDF correctly.
They have the problem when printing from the web, and if saving the file locally and printing that way.
They are having the problem on ONE printer, and can print to another printer fine. However, others CAN print this file to the same printer without problems.
This customer effectively just gets the title of the file, and then the whole body text is missing, and she gets a lot of symbols and numbers printed instead.
She has tried both printing normally, and using print as image. She has tried all the available post scripts as well.
I have issued her a new windows profile, and this also made no difference.
So, these are the facts simplified.- She cannot print to one printer, but she can to other printers (there are two others with the same issue in her office)
- she can print other PDF files to this printer
- Others can print to this same printer, same file, without problem, including myself
- a new profile does NOT fix this
- changing post script language doesn't help
- our desktop services team who look after printers state that this isn't a fault with the printer
- printer is a Lexmark E322
Im at a loss as to where to go with this... I cannot see how this can't be printer related, as although others can print to this printer, she can print to other printers without issue.... ?? Very strange... and giving a new profile at work, means that any of her custom settings for printing would have been set back to default....
Any suggestions?? I can provide more info if needed...
Thanks guys and gals,
Alex

Hi farmerjoe,
thanks for your reply.
No - not yet... the fact that it works perfectly for 90% of the users strongly makes me think that the printer is at fault... although the fact that it prints out symbols is true to form for corrupt drivers... I suppose corruptions can cause all sorts of weird things...
Also, I've spoken to this persons colleague, and I'm going to clarify what she has told me, as I have contradicting stories... I have a sneaking suspicion that she hasn't tried all the print options, including print as image... even though she's told me she has....I will post here once I speak with her...
Thanks again,Alex

It's the driver on that machine.
Every other machine in th world could rpint correctly to that machine if they have no driver problem.
If she has a driver problem, she won't be able to print correctly.
Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain consciousness
