Good afternoon campers I am having trouble with Access and setting the default value in design view. I have a customers table which has a Billing Addr field and a Shipping Addr field, what I want to do is to set the default for the Shipping field to the Billing field, but I am unable to do this entering =[shipping Addr] into the default value property of Shipping Addr brings up an error as does =[customer].[shipping Addr] What am i doing wrong i am sure it is something simple, as it looks correct to me.

That won't work in a table. Which customers shipping address? But you can do it in a form, but it isn't a default value. Create a form for the data entry. Then create a on change event for billing field that sets the shipping address to the billing address.
