A user is getting the "0x80040600" error when they try to Sync with the exchange derver. When I looked up that error on this site. It said to delete the "Deleted Items" folder and that would fix the problem.
But, when I go to the "Deleted Items" folder I get this message:

"Unable to display the folder. The file C:\Documents and settings\Dennis Hoover.DENNISHOOVER01\Local Settings\Applicaiton Data\Microsoft\Outllook\outlook.ost can not be accessed. The handle is invalid."

Then I get a message that tells me to use the Scanpst.exe to repair the outlook.ost file.

No Problem.

I opened Scanpst.exe and began the repair on outlook.ost. The scan got about 9% through and this message came up:

"Inbox Repair Tool -
An unexpected eroor prevented access to this file. Use ScanDisk to check the disk for errors, and then try using the Inbox Repair Tool again."

I would delete the user's cached ost file. It will be recreated when the user reconnects to Exchange.

You may need to change the folder view so that Hidden files, folders, and drives are shown. And, uncheck the option to hide extensions for known file types.

The user profile folders were stored in Documents and Settings in Windows XP. In Windows 7, they are stored in C:\Users

The correct path for Windows 7 should be: C:\Users\Dennis Hoover.DENNISHOOVER01\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
