I had a really nasty Outlook problem (now solved):-

"I have just installed XP for the first time, then installed Office 2000. Outlook 2000 cannot open a .pst file, or even create one. I've tried directing it to backup copies, even copying one into the default folder & naming it "Personal Folders(1).pst", which is what Outlook seems to be trying to create."

John,

Thanks for the info. I'm curious though, what was the exact error you were receiving when you tried to add the pst as a data file?
