My friend wanted me to hear a track from a CD he had. Said he will but it for me if I like it...However when I try to play it I get this:
A license is required to play this file
The file you are trying to play was ripped (copied) from an audio CD.

During the ripping process, the file was "protected." This limits the number of computers on which the file can be played.

Is there a way around this???!!!

Tell him to rip it again and this time either save it as an MP3 or turn off the protection if he is going to save it as a WMA.
