Comment:

I reconfigured my Outlook 2000 e-mail system from a workgroup to internet mail (single home computer). I can now longer send e-mail - keep getting an 0x800ccc0e error message. Sending works no problem.

I appreciate any ideas out there.

Sorta confused by your question... What isn't working?

Quite often, changing from Internet Mail to the Corporate/Workgroup Option (and vice versa) corrupts the pst file. In fact, of the few times I've done it, it never worked, and the file needed to be recreated.

I'd create a new pst file. Start by copying each folder one at a time. Testing sending/receiving and then exiting reopening after each folder is copied. It'll take some time, but if one of the mails got corrupt and is causing the problem (which I doubt), create another pst, and you'll know which folder NOT to copy.

Not saying of course that there aren't other options. This is just what I'd do...

Please post back and let me know how this works for you.

Hi Jennifer

Thanks for your help. I tried what you suggested and 1 of the 3 accounts I have set up started sending mail again - which in itself has been a big help:))

To try get the other 2 accounts to be able to send mail (they receive mail OK), I deleted the 2 non working accounts (just in case they were corrupted somewhere at the profile level), the re-installed office and started with a clean pst file.

Unfortunately they still do not send mail!!!

I don't know what to try now - any other ideas you have would be great.

Marc

Make sure that your configuration settings for those two accounts are correct. It's possible the server information isn't right.

If the settings appear to be correct, go to a command prompt and see if you can ping the servers.

Lemme know how you make out with that..

By configuration settings I take it you mean the account details ie selecting Tools/accounts? These settings all look good.

I pinged the mail server and it returned a positive response.

I uninstalled office, re-installed Windows XP and Office 2000, and still no difference to sending mail on these 2 accounts????

I give up!

Thanks for your input.

10 months ago I had the same problem. I could not send email and also I could not download past the 7th email, it would end up timing out. I could get the first six every time but not the 7th.
I looked all over the net and used every fix I could find but nothing worked... Finally I found the problem! I fixed it and it worked Great you wouldn't beleive how much more mem. and Res. I had...Problem solved... until last week I had the same problem again. you know what I did? Well I'll tell you I didn't learn a lesson on the first time because I MESSED WITH THE DARN THING ANOTHER THREE DAYS BECAUSE I AM SO CHEEP.
Sorry about that. Let's see where was I Oh
I was about to tell you the problem.
The problem was I was missing, missplaced, or had scatered files all over my drive.
Mostly missing files 104 problems all together. I was told this happens from moving files and deleting them, some ove the files get left behind and after awhile it just messess up your programs.
OK here it is both times this happened to me I used pcdocrx.net (NOT PCdoctor).
You can test your computer and see how many problems you have FREE. Then if you want to pay them $29.95 they will fix all of them.
Trust me it is well worth the money.
I could have told you all this in three lines but the more I talked about it the more upset I got with myself. I am so darn cheep I can't beleive it.
Good Luck!

Thanks
Akeith
