Can anyone please tell me how to change the MTU setting on the Zyxel P-660HW-D1 Modem/router. Can't figure out from Zyxel site and documentation is useless. I'm having a problem with connection dropping on some sites, particularly online gaming sites. After scouring the net, I think the MTU on the router should match the network card but i cannot get into the router to change the setting. Appreciate any help
MTU has nothing to do with the modem, router or network card. MTU is a software function that is part of the TCP/IP protocols; nothing to do with the hardware.
Adjusting the MTU with not do much for connections dropping; at best the correct MTU may speed things up a little. You ISP will advise you as to what the optimal MTU setting you should use, usually between 1400 and 1500 with 1500 being the default.
