I've got a real basic home LAN, two PCs, one hub. The first PC has a broadband modem attached to a NIC with a second NIC connected to the hub.
The second PC is also connected to the hub. I can share the net access no problems but when I launch ZoneAlarm on the first PC the second PC can no longer access the net. I've added the second machines IP, Host name (which zonealarm resolves no problems). I've added all sorts to the trusted zone but I cannot get that 2nd PC onto the net.
If I turn off ZoneAlarm the second PC can once again access the net, so I know for sure that there is no problem with how it's all set up. It must be down to zonealarms settings.
Can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to sort this ? Or point me in the direction of some decent instructions cuz I've bee unsuccessful at finding any at all!!
Zonealarm found the LAN when I first installed it and I added that to the trusted zone as well, but I just can't see what the hell I'm doing wrong. I'm using Zone Alarm Security Suite v5.1
Thanks in advance for any help.

What is the Trusted Zone Security set to?
If it's set to High it will not allow the 2nd computer to the internet. You'll have to set it to Medium.
Are the IP addresses dynamic or static?
If so the Trusted Zone will have to account for access accordingly. Note - the host setting is for web site not local computers, so setting the host name aint helpin you. If you are setting dynamic IP set the trusted range for the same range as the dynamic IP range. If your second computer is set to static IP make sure the IP address matches the 2nd computer in the Trust range.
Finally double check that Internet programs are set to ALLOW for the trusted zone (i.e. internet explorer, etc.).

Go into Zone Alarm and set IP range 192.168.0.1 through 192.168.255.255 as "trusted". Believe it's under "program control", "Advanced" options.

Thanks for the replies, I haven't had a chance to try any of it yet but I'll have a go when I get home this evening and post a response then.
D - From memory the Trusted Zone is set to medium at the moment and the IPs are static.
I'll give it a go tonight tho.
thanks again for the help.
