I'm trying to set up my IBM Aptiva Win98 and my Compaq WinME computers together usung a wireless Lynksis rounter and wireless Lynksis PCI Lan (it plugs into a USB slot). I have it installed and working-both computers can access the internet but when I try to transfer files within my home the upstairs computer cant "see" the downstairs computer. Upstairs I have the ZoneAlarm free version and down stairs I have the ZoneAlarm Pro version. When I'm down stairs I can "see" the computer upstairs I guess its because I'm using the ZoneAlarm Pro version. Do I need to put in the IP address of the computer down stairs into the Trusted Zone in the computer upstairs? What about the Submask- is that info also needed? How do I find out the IP/Submask info on my WinME computer, do I need to know the IP address of the IBM (I think ZoneAlarm found that IP by itself?). I can see both computers in their workgroup and am able to transfer files when I shut off both ZoneZlarms. Is having ZoneAlarm overkill or is the firewall included with the router good enough? My router downstairs is WAP54G and I have the PCI "B" version (I forgot the item#)of the wireless PCI upstairs. I guess I could install the ZoneAlarm Pro version in my upstairs computer but do they allow 1 software to be installed on 2 computers-I'm the only one using these 2 computers. Any help is appreciated!
