i've got 2 machines, one with w2k & w98 se (duel boot) and one with w98 se (or Windows ME) is it possible to network these machines together easily?

Yes it is. I have the exact same setup with 1 computer configured for a dual boot of WIN2k/98 and one machine with just Win98. I got the duel boot machine to talk to the 98 machine with both OS's.
