Hello
I was playing around with the network settings on my work laptop so that i can connect it to my home pc to copy some files over, i changed it from the domain group to a workgroup named WORKGROUP. It asked for a restart and now i cant log into the laptop with my usual password. After a quick look online, it looks like i have royally stuffed it up.
According to link below:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317...
Would anyone know a work around to i can log in someone and set the settings back to as they were???
Thanks!

Confess to the company IT what you did to the company-issued laptop and pray that they will fix it for you with no reprimand.

If you don't have a local account, there is no "workaround." Follow XPUser's advice.

Yeah guess thats what i will do on monday.
Just wondering, if someone has a admin level username and password for my laptop stored somewhere it should be ok?
Thanks.

Also, can you tell me what the process of getting it fixed would be if there is no admin account on the computer?
Thanks,

There is an Admin account on the computer. The Default Administrator account cannot be removed.

However, if no one has that password, then the only thing to do is reinstall Windows.
Next time you want to do this add a new Network Connection instead of trying to modify the existing one from a domain to a workgroup. Right-click the My Network Neighborhood icon on the dexktop, select Properties, then click on Open a New Network Connection and use the Network Setup Wizard.
