yahoo messenger and router

i have a zyxel prestige 100 isdn router. i have an idsl connection. the problem is that whenevr i lg in to yahoo messenger,the router freezes up for 10-20 seconds, and the data stops. and sometimes the messenger also could not connect. i have kept my settings in yahoo messenger as NO PROXIES.and when i do log on to yahoo messenger, it eats up my hald the bandwidth, making internet access slow. pls can u tell me what is the solution for this. and 1 more thing the yahoo messenger runs fine on my 56k modem. so is there any problem between my router and yahoo messenger? pls give me a solution for this problem.thank u in advance.
