Greeting to all,
I need some helps with XP wireless problem.I have DSL wireless ntwork w/ Linksys router. I tried to make a local network connection(access shared files) between laptop1(Gr390-1)& laptop2(Gr390-2)and they're in the same workgroup names(VAIO);I could see both machines under VAIO Workgroup but unable to gain access to each other. I got a message indicated like this "You have no permission or privilege to acces this resources ,S'thing like that.)And both machines are logged on w/ Administrator accounts. What could be wrong logically or any helps would be greatly appreciated.

Did you turn on the XP software firewall on each machine?

You should see it at the netword Adaptor properties.

Also make sure that you have the "Client for microsoft network" installed.

Good luck

i had same problem before. i believe its some irregularity of win xp. i solved it like this:

shut down all network computer, and power off the router.

turn on all computers, then use network wizard (for home/small office) of control penal and let it set up the network for you. make sure that you have the right network config (find the most similar config from the diagram)

do it to all your computers. you can now try all your computers one by one to look for the shared folders of the network.
