XP vpn w/Windows 2000 server

I have created a vpn connection in a xp remote computer and installed routing and remote access on my Win 2000 Server. I dial-in with my VPN and in routing and remote access I can see the VPN dialin active. I cannot seem to acce4ss anything from that server even after creating shares with the user login info from the vpn client having permission to access the shared folder. Please Help

Do you have routing setup? can you ping the VPN server from the client???

yes routing is set up and I can ping the wan address but I can not ping the system address. this is on a linksys router and I have the server on the dmz zone
