When using XP as a print server (with a printer attached directly to it) does the 'Printer Server' machine have to be logged in to be able to print from another PC? I find that if the 'Print Server' machine isn't logged in then the 'network' printer appears offline
I have tried just turning on without logging in. The printer appears offline. I noticed that the Print Server machine only gets an IP Address assigned when it is logged in so this makes sense. Surely this isn't how it's supposed to work?
