I can't access files on my compaq presario. (the model number escapes me for the moment)
It can access files on my other laptop via wifi or usb-to-usb, but my other computers can't access it. I disabled the firewall, but it didn't help.

I did. I did everything from running the wizard to switching workgroups to direct cable connection.

Now it's going slower than ever. It used to be that a print job sent over my wireless network started right away. Now, it can take up to ten minutes. I thought maybe this might help: In the network places, it considers the other computer to be on the internet (It shows it under the internet group) I ran the networking wizard and checked the box that confirms that the wireless adapter connects to the local network, but when I ran it again, it was unchecked.
