Howdy! I've got kind of a strange issue. I've got a small network set up in a University Lab here, and the one computer that has a connection to the internet through the University's network has 3 network cards in it; One (the built in 3com 3c918/3c905b-tx compatible) connects to the internet. The second one, a 3com 3c900b-tpc is there for an older macintosh to be able to connect to this pc via FTP. The third card is a 3com 3crwe777a 802.11b wireless card that connects this computer and 4 others via a 3crwe747a wireless AP. The problem I'm running into is that the computer that has the three network cards in it refuses to see the local network. It USED to work when it was running windows 95, and when upgraded to 98 it *could* see the network and browse the web, but not both at the same time. If the internet connection was disabled, then you could browse the Microsoft network via the wireless card. If the network card was disabled, you could browse the web using the built in or the 3c900b card. Now when upgraded to windows XP, I can browse the web just fine, but I can't see any other computers besides itself (3 card machine.) I've got the computers in the LAN all using just normal TCP/IP networking, all have manually entered ip addy's and subnets are the same, and they all work wonderfully together, all except for the three card machine. I was able to see another windows XP box when I installed IPX on the three card machine (the other xp box had IPX installed already.) The other machines are one running 2k, one running 98, and one running 95. (oi.) I know this is a bit wordy, but it's an annoyingly slippery problem. I thought unbinding the client for MS networks and file and print sharing for MS networks from the wired cards would fix the issue, but it did not. Does anyone have any tips I could try or any advice? Thanks a lot!!
