I am running a home network with 2 laptops and two desktops. All are running XP Pro with file sharing on and firewall off. I have a D-link 4 port router with one laptop running on the wi-fi. I can ping all machines from one machine but I am unable to map any network drives (using either naming or IP for mapping) any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Jeff

You can ping all machines, but can you see them? If you can't, you have a browsing problem. Make sure all the systems sharing files have file and printer sharing enabled. Also make sure that all computers have the same Workgroup name. Lastly, all systems should have the same protocols installed. Let me know how this goes.

Explain see them. I can't browse to them by trying to map a network drive. All the machines are on the same workgroup and have the same protocoles installed. Under properties of the shared folders I have checked both boxes on share and allow people to change. Any other advise? Thanks, Jeff

See Computers = You can't see them in My Network Places. You should have File and Print sharing enabled and make sure that the user accounts and passwords are the same on all systems.
