I have a home network already set up. I use a wireless Linksys router and my ISP is Mediacom. I have an HP desktop, an HP laptop, and an Acer netbook. I ran the connection wizard on all to confirm that file & printer sharing is turned on and that the workgroup name is the same on all three. All three connection to the Internet without any difficulty. The desktop (running Win XP Pro) can see the laptop, but not the netbook. The laptop (running Win XP Home) can see the desktop, but not the netbook. The net book can see the laptop, but NOT the desktop. The net book (running Win XP Home) can see the laptop, but not the desktop. My HP printer connected to the desktop is shared with both the laptop and the netbook. Why can't I see the files on the desktop from the netbook. What am I missing? I searched the forums extensively, but couldn't come up with an answer. Thanks!!!

did you check the windows firewall or other third party firewalls for blocking? easiest way to test is disable them then try your connection again.

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried turning the Windows Firewall off on the netbook. I use Comodo Firewall Pro on my desktop. I have it turned on and can share files with my laptop, but not my netbook. Turning the firewall off on the net book still does not allow me to see the desktop files on the netbook. I can live with it, but it just makes me curious. Thanks again.
